High-waisted 50's style midi skirt with gussets and pleats blocked at the waist, bell-shaped pattern perfect for highlighting the waist.

Print inspired by Rosa Parks: It's December 1, 1955 when Rosa Parks, a 42-year-old African-American woman and seamstress by trade, refuses to give up her seat to a white woman on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, as was customary during the years of racial segregation. That refusal transformed her in a few years into a bulwark of the non-violent struggle for the civil rights of black African Americans. The driver of the vehicle immediately called the police to resolve the matter and Parks was arrested on charges of misconduct. By this time, the Pa- ese protest had begun and the Montgomery bus boycott movement was born, which continued for 381 days. Rosa's case reached the U.S. Supreme Court, which on December 13, 1956, declared segregation on public transportation to be unconstitutional. Rosa Parks later became one of the greatest American activists and founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self Development, still active today, for the betterment of the condition of the African-American community in the country, and in 1999 she was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest American civilian recognition for her commitment and her role in the history of the country.

Chiara, Elisa and Giulia are the founders of the Rome-based brand Ma Vie. They’re in search of innovative yarns to experiment with, often further enriched by hand embroidery, and carried out by experienced embroiderers. Everything has been designed and created in collaboration with skilled Italian illustrators. Most of the garments are printed with Green Drop technique, which uses pigment colors with very low environmental impact resulting in significant water savings and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
